A nationally-renowned social justice-centered organization spearheaded an impactful, two-day extravaganza, which was produced by and held in honor of black excellence.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC), an activist group created to combat racial inequality in the music industry, hosted the BMAC/UTA V.I.P. Preview and Reception Exhibit for the iconic Ernie Barnes. This elite, invitation-only affair was held in Beverly Hills, California’s exclusive UTA Artist Space.
BMAC and UTA presented the VIP preview and celebration for the Ernie Barnes: Where Music and Soul Live exhibition in honor of the Grammy Awards. The show highlighted the evolution of musical styles in Los Angeles, California via Barnes’ art. Several prominent performers participated in the live performances. Barnes’ timeless masterpiece titled The Sugar Shack, was included on the album cover of Marvin Gaye’s classic I Want You LP.
However, BMAC re-emerged to further impress after its Beverly Hills function to reappear in West Hollywood, California for another exclusive gathering in which the disproportionately beneficial relationship between minority youths and the ever-tenuous, fiefdom-filled process called the U.S. political system.
A private screening of Simplified: Bridging the Gap will be showing this afternoon at The London West Hollywood on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Directed by YelloPain (pictured), a civics-driven, revolutionary musician turned filmmaker (Upfront Media & Ent.), Simplified is a documentary which will set the tone when it comes to greatly expanding minority and youth participation in future elections.
It offers academia the impartial method it needs to covert complicated civil concerns in to the basic concepts and processes for those who lack a high level of knowledge, as it pertains to volatile spectrum, which encompasses the ubiquitous and critical factors surrounding politics at the city, county, state, and federal levels.
Following the private screening of this cinematic product of director YelloPain’s political savvy, a question and answer session will be held – featuring a professional pool of minority journalists who will confer with the young creative about his latest work.
