Avelo Airlines Launches First Caribbean Destination with Exclusive Nonstop Service Between Puerto Rico and Southern Connecticut
The Houston-based low-cost airline Avelo Airlines has announced its first Caribbean destination. On November 15, 2023, the airline will begin offering nonstop service between Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Connecticut and San Juan Luis Muoz Marn International Airport (SJU) in Puerto Rico.
In addition to Avelo, this is a major development for the Connecticut travel market as well. The new route will make it easier and more affordable for people in southern Connecticut to visit Puerto Rico since HVN is the smallest commercial airport in the United States with nonstop service to the Caribbean.
Avelo is currently offering introductory one-way fares between HVN and SJU starting at $99. Boeing Next-Generation (NG) 737 aircraft will operate the flights twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
