A partnership with MoMA and Artsy, as well as a partnership with AdAge, to highlight black creators and artists across the United States.
Throughout Black History Month this February, OUTFRONT Media launched several OOH campaigns to celebrate and honor the lives, legacies, and artistry of Black Americans. Among the campaigns are billboard advertisements featuring Black creators throughout the United States, as well as two series with MoMA and Artsy celebrating African American artists and artists of color. Each campaign is described in more detail below:
AdAge’s Black History Month feature celebrates black creative excellence and OUTFRONT is partnering with them for the inaugural edition. As part of the project, OUTFRONT will highlight key moments in the careers of inspiring and influential creators across the creative industry on its digital out-of-home media throughout the country. Black creative executives making an impact on the industry will be featured on each billboard. This campaign will utilize transit and street-level locations and include a QR code that will direct commuters to AdAge.com to learn more about Black Creative Excellence. As part of OUTFRONT’s celebration of Black History Month, Tim Wasicki, the artist behind the award-winning “Black Heart” campaign, kicked off the celebrations.
Moments in Art (MoMA) – In commemoration of Black History Month, Moments in Art presents Changing Spaces: Just Above Midtown. African American and artists of color were prominently featured at Just Above Midtown, which was led by Linda Goode Bryant. During its opening in 1974 and closure in 1986, it was a place where Black art flourished and debate flourished. MoMA will host this exhibition until February 18th.
Celebrating Black Art History (Artsy) – In honor of Black History Month, Moments in Culture presents Celebrating Black Art History. From the 1930s to the present, works of Black Art History will be presented in this series.
