This summer, you don’t need a plane ticket or a vineyard view to taste the heart of Napa Valley. Cakebread Cellars — the family-owned winery celebrated for its iconic Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and rich culinary legacy — is bringing its kitchen to yours with the launch of Vine & Dine, a brand-new virtual cooking series in partnership with chef-led platform, Home Ec.
Kicking off August 14 and August 25, with more dates rolling out this fall, Vine & Dine blends the winery’s signature hospitality with interactive, live-streamed classes led by Executive Chef Brian Streeter. Inspired by the winery’s coveted Cooking with Cakebread program, each session pairs seasonal recipes with hand-selected Cakebread wines — so you’re learning, cooking, and sipping right along with Napa’s best.
The debut menu? A tomato-season celebration starring Andouille Crusted Filet Mignon with Blistered Cherry Tomatoes and Garlic Sauce, perfectly paired with Cakebread Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Whether you’re just looking for the live class ($25) or ready to go all in with the premium package ($190 — groceries delivered plus a code for wine pairings), every ticket includes a digital recipe guide, wine notes, and access to a replay.
The magic unfolds in real-time from Dolores Cakebread’s own home kitchen at the winery — a nod to the late co-founder’s belief that “great wine is meant to be shared with great food.” Streeter, who joined Cakebread in 1989 and worked side-by-side with Dolores for 15 years, calls this series “an invitation into her legacy.”
“You’ll cook with the same seasonal ingredients we use here in Napa, learn the techniques we’ve honed over decades, and feel the warmth of our table — all from your own home,” Streeter says.
Brit Obenauer, CEO of Home Ec, calls translating Cakebread’s in-person experience into a virtual format “a creative challenge worth savoring.” The result? Classes that feel approachable, personal, and easy to follow, while keeping the polish both brands are known for.
For over 50 years, Cakebread Cellars has been about more than just world-class wine. It’s about sustainability, community, and the people who pour their passion into every bottle and every meal. With Vine & Dine, they’re inviting kitchens nationwide to taste — and feel — that tradition.
Registration is now open at www.homeec.co/cakebread.
