When we talk about service, we’re not just talking about what happens on the battlefield. Service is also about what happens when you come home—and whether your family has enough food on the table. On August 15, at the Lake Baldwin VA Clinic in Orlando, Florida Food Products (FFP) made it clear where they stand. The world’s largest private equity–owned natural ingredient supplier presented a $10,000 check to Soldiers’ Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans, active-duty personnel, and their families.

The donation didn’t just happen in a boardroom. It was handed over in the middle of a food distribution event where hundreds of military families received up to 75 pounds of groceries—enough to sustain a family of four for two weeks. Alongside the ceremonial check handoff, FFP employees—from CEO Vince Macciocchi to frontline staff—rolled up their sleeves and volunteered, proving that leadership isn’t just about writing checks, but about showing up.

And show up they did. Soldiers’ Angels, founded by the family of General George Patton, honored FFP with the Golden Wing Award Certificate for their sponsorship and service. The recognition is more than symbolic—it represents the power of corporate partnerships in tackling a very real crisis. According to a 2023 study, 15.4% of active-duty personnel experience low food security. That’s not a statistic we can afford to ignore.

For Chris Johnson, FFP’s president of foodservice and an Army veteran himself, the moment was personal: “As someone who has worn the uniform, I know firsthand the challenges that military families face. Supporting Soldiers’ Angels is more than a corporate initiative—it’s a personal mission.”

FFP’s commitment to nourishing communities is about more than ingredients—it’s about impact. And in teaming up with Soldiers’ Angels, they’ve shown that business can be both profitable and purposeful.

As Amy Palmer, president and CEO of Soldiers’ Angels, put it best: “Working side by side with FFP has amplified what we can accomplish for veterans and their families. Their dedication to nourishing communities aligns perfectly with our mission.”

This donation marks only the beginning of what promises to be a meaningful partnership between Florida Food Products and Soldiers’ Angels. And for the veterans and families walking away from that August 15th event with food, dignity, and hope—the timing couldn’t have been better.
