When you bring together a brand steeped in tradition and a designer who refuses to compromise on authenticity, the end result is more than just design—it’s legacy in the making. That’s exactly what Tequila Don Julio and Willy Chavarria deliver with their latest collaboration: the new Tequila Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino Artist Edition Bottle.
This second annual Artist Edition arrives as a celebration of Día de Muertos, carrying with it the unmistakable fingerprints of Chavarria’s creative vision. Known for weaving Chicano culture into high-fashion, Chavarria has transformed the iconic Cristalino bottle into a bold tribute to Mexico’s modern identity. Red roses—his signature motif—wrap the bottle as a symbol of strength, fidelity, and undying love. Layered with elements of Mexican iconography and references to Chavarria’s own runway staples, the design captures both reverence for tradition and the edge of contemporary style.
“My partnership with Tequila Don Julio has always been about honoring where we come from,” Chavarria shared. “This new edition is the next step in that journey. The roses embody resilience and beauty, while the design reflects the timelessness of Mexican culture.”
The collaboration, however, doesn’t end with the bottle. Chavarria has expanded his artistry into fine jewelry, introducing the Willy Chavarria x Tequila Don Julio Cristalino Collection. Handcrafted in Mexico City, the line includes a necklace, ring, and cuff made from white gold, diamond pavé, and crystals. Each piece carries Chavarria’s rose motif alongside intertwined serpents—symbols of transformation and power. The collection will be auctioned exclusively on Charitybuzz starting November 2, with proceeds benefiting the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) and Plataforma Arte Contemporáneo. Both organizations champion Mexican and Hispanic creatives, ensuring cultural pride and innovation continue to thrive.
“This support is vital for the next generation of artists,” said Mari Hernandez, Deputy Director at NALAC. José Noé Suro, Co-Founder of Plataforma Arte Contemporáneo, echoed that sentiment: “It gives creators the platform to keep defining Mexico’s cultural future.”
For Tequila Don Julio, the collaboration underscores its deep roots. “As a proudly Mexican brand, our responsibility is to elevate and celebrate the heritage that inspires us,” said Karen Harris, Senior Vice President of Agave at Diageo North America.
Inside the striking new bottle is the same pioneering spirit that changed the tequila game: Tequila Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino. Aged 18 months in American white oak barrels, it marries the depth of an Añejo with the clarity of a Blanco—smooth, crisp, and complex. Whether neat, over ice, or mixed into a crafted cocktail, it delivers a taste worthy of the artistry it now represents.
The limited-edition 750ml bottle is priced at $69.99 and will be available nationwide and online at DonJulio.WillyChavarria.com. With its mix of tradition, design, and flavor, this release is more than tequila—it’s a statement of Mexican pride, resilience, and creativity.
